The Lone one from Rhymney

by Onu Oremun

Singing a song for Seeger, Davies, the Byrds and the many others.

So who made the leader?

Says the child to his teacher

And why do they follow?

Say the blind from their hollow

Who took away the bells?

Cry the old from their shells

And what will you give me?

Says the lone one from Rhymney

Just waiting for the fall

Cry the old bricks in the wall

To make right, with no fault

Says the money in the vault

They have claws, they dig deep

Shout the poor in their sleep

We are all uneasy

Say the silent squalls of sea

But they take nothing to bed

Cry wives that long ago wed

Shall I start the action

Sang the youth in reaction

When the future looks so bleak

Cry the cynic and the meek

And what will you give me?

Says the lone one from Rhymney
